Day 22

Well as planned, today has been nice and easy. Due to the the distances between towns, we could either have done 25 miles or best part of 100, so we opted to do just 25, taking today almost as a rest day.

We set off late, about 11am, as we knew it would take us 2 hours at the most. The first 2 miles or so involved cycling through some very shifty looking neighbourhoods, and it looked a bit like 'dog territory'. We cycled very slowly as dogs seem to take a dislike to fast moving things, however it didn't take long for one to briefly chase us. Fortunately it only seemed intent on protecting it's owners property and lost interest after about 10-20 meters when it realised that in fact we weren't there to rob the house.

From then on, we hopped on what would be the equivilent of an A road in England. We stayed on this right into the village of Logan where we found a motel to stay. We then did pretty much nothing all afternoon, as this place has a population of about 1,000 and there is less than nothing to do. We took a few photos of the town centre (lol) and also of the fine restaurants that the village has to offer.

We were looking forward to the new episode of Lost tonight, however we have been cheated by the time zones and therefore missed it by an hour. We are still in the Mountain time zone or whatever it's called so it should have been on at 8, however we are only about 20 miles from Texas which goes by central time. Our motel must be stealing tv signals from Texas and so we missed the new episode. We feel badly cheated.

Anyway, tomorrow we will be cycling just over 70 miles to Dalhart in Texas. We will then be in the central time zone, which is UK-5 hours, but -6 from Sunday onwards. We will only be in Texas for one night though, as we will be cycling over 70 miles on Thursday to Guymon in Oklahoma. Strangely enough, we will only be in Oklahoma state for one day too, as we will be cycling about 80 miles on Friday taking us into Kansas! 4 different states in 4 days if all goes to plan.

While there isn't much to say, I will point out that on Sunday we passed through the 1,000 mile mark, and we are now on about 1,100 miles! We hope to do 400 more by Monday, as that will take is into Wichita in Kansas, where it might be worth having a day off.
